Matthias Gruber

Director of Engineering, Partner

Matthias Gruber is an expert in database engineering, having worked on projects in the US and Europe with cutting-edge technology companies Genalytics Inc. (USA) and Schober GmbH. (Germany).

At Genalytics he developed and managed quality control for the company's proprietary analytical software based on genetic algorithms. Prior to focusing on software development he worked for airlines (Lufthansa AG), financial institutions (Capital One), and data providers (Schober GmbH).

Matthias Gruber worked with one of Europe's largest direct marketing firms on analytical and data warehouse projects serving clients all over Europe. He reviewed in-house analytical processes, restructured them, installed and benchmarked software. The results of his reviews greatly improved modeling run times and model quality. He is an expert in analytical modeling, data management, concept validation and database marketing solutions.

His business understanding combined with an analytical approach from an engineering perspective has contributed to the success of many analytical projects.

He is a co-founder of Modern Analytics and holds a Masters degree in Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and an MBA from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.
